Face of Africa....

Same colours, different order....




Using the same ref photo as a guide, I approached this painting in a different way to the other.....this time I wanted to see what would happen if I used more or less the same colours, but placed them in a different order....So started off with the Sienna, then followed with blues and reds afterwards, decided to leave out the green this time though.........Interesting how different it looks...


My choice....Definitely the other painting, but I guess it comes down to personal taste in the end....

I agree with Christiane, both painting are great. I do prefer the first to the second one but I think that has to do more with the colors than anything else. They are both very powerful.
